The Idaho Screendance Festival uses FilmFreeway as a digital platform for submissions, adjudication, awards, discounts, waivers, tracking submissions, collecting donations, and contacting filmmakers. All screenings are free and open to the public.

  • What is a Screendance? Screendance is defined as artistic film shorts, documentaries, or feature-length films where movement/dance (any genre or style of dance and pedestrian movement) along with film/video practice are the main mediums of the art. Choreography, dance performers, location, costumes, makeup, sound, lighting, plus cinematography equal Screendance.

  • What ages should attend or participate in Idaho Screendance Festival? ISF is a community event for all ages to attend. Ages five to adult may submit films.


Why should I submit a dance film? 
Admission to ISF workshop, screening, & networking during the festival. "Official ISF Selection" laurel for film production. Eligibility for filmmaker awards. Participation in Filmmaker/Cast/Crew Q&A sessions during the Festival. Networking opportunities for dance & film professionals.

location? The festival is located at 646 West Fulton Street, 1800 University Drive, Boise, Idaho 83702, United States. 


Where should I park for the festival?
 Parking is located next to the building.


Is there a map of the festival location?
 The Flicks is located in downtown Boise. Easily accessible and has a parking lot.

 The submission fee gets you: Admission to the ISF workshop, screenings, & networking sessions during the festival. What is the Screendance Workshop?
 A two-hour long "Screendance Filmmaking" workshop taught by guest film/dance artists. Open to all festival attendees. Open to all ages of filmmakers.
